God’s Peace to you all. We come into our Fall season now and as we can see the fully Glory of the beauty of God’s nature in the changing of the colors. As we enjoy God’s nature we also understand that this is the season for harvest as well. Throughout our country, the farmers are in full harvest, collecting the fruits of their work, since the new beginning of the life of these seed last spring. They often went through the stresses of dry periods, wet periods and maybe even times that the creatures of nature may have destroyed some of these crops they have been tending to. We also understand that so many of these farmers have very few to help them in planting these seeds, in caring for that which began to grow. Often times as mentioned some of these seeds are choked out and do not grow, sometime grow but by the ways of nature they wither and die. Yet each year there are those seeds that grow to fullness and bring forth the fruits of what the seed were intended for. The works of the farmers, rewarded by nature and the bounty of the seed.

We can look at this natural harvest that is provided to the farmers by the Grace of God and now look at the parable of the seeds. We know that the harvest is plenteous as the verse says but the labourers are few. It is so important that each one of us (we are the labourers) goes out and plant the seed of Jesus and the Gospel in all we do. We bring that message of faith to the world and continue to plant the seeds without weariness for God will give us the strength. The harvest is out there, we are asked to cultivate that soil the seeds are planted in and help it to flourish. We bring the manna from heaven to nourish these seeds, we quench that thirst of these seeds so that it can have that living water by strength through Christ to resist the thorns of sin. It is so important that we not let these thorns cause the seeds to whither, we clear those thorns from the fields and continue to protect those seeds that they can grow the sweet grapes of God’s Grace and Love.

As we look at the parable of the seeds, we can see in life, how many get so excited about a new found church, but after a while this newness wears off and that excitement withers away. Many return to their old ways. Many know what the seeds can do but they get comfortable in the ways of sins and temptation, and do not give an effort to grow that seed. We see this in many areas of life at times. In times of affliction or medical issues, in addiction, in loss. May say it is too hard to change and they do not let the seed flourish, they bask in the darkness of sin. Yet, we know there is good soil and we can see in our lives how many have planted that seed in this ground, the root has taken hold and does not die for Jesus has rewarded us and promised us. We live in the promise, we live in his Grace, we share the Gospel message Repentance and Remission of sins.

It is so important that we are keeping our feet on that solid ground, that fertile ground that will grow our faith, will build our lives to be centered around the Word and God. It is as we talked about that our life is Christ, in Him, and that is how we live. We can do so in all we do and say, we can have ears to fully hear, we can have eyes to fully see, we can have a heart that is filled with the Spirit and shining the light of Jesus. Do not cover the light of Jesus shining through you. Let it shine, Like the Bible school song says, Do not let satan blow it, I’m going to let it shine.

When we have Jesus in our heart, when our hearts have been opened and we then can see his blessing fully, whether big or small, we experience them for God has given them unto us.

Let us always see the bounty of this vineyard, that we can bring the fruits of the Spirit to all those around us, bring them to honor what Jesus has done for us. We can rejoice in these gifts, find Joy in the Peace of our Lord by this bounty he has given to us by his Love. These gifts freely given let us embrace and partake in this promise, this Grace, this Mercy and Love.

We pray daily that those that walk with Jesus continue to bring that seed to the darkened hearts, and maybe one day the roots will take hold and flourish.

This what our church missions are asked to do. Plant the side daily.

God’s Grace, Mercy and Peace be with you all:
