God's Provision and the Blessing of Sharing His Word

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

As we look upon the work of the Apostolic Lutheran Eastern Mission, we are reminded that the Lord has always been faithful to provide for His children. From the beginning of creation until this very day, God has sustained His people with both earthly and spiritual blessings. He knows our needs before we ask, and He lovingly cares for those who trust in Him.

Jesus Himself comforts us with these words:

"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."   Matthew 6:31, 33 (KJV)

The greatest provision God has given is not found in earthly possessions but in His Son, Jesus Christ. Through His perfect sacrifice, we have forgiveness of sins, peace with God, and the promise of eternal life. This Gospel is the treasure entrusted to the Church, and it is a blessing beyond measure to proclaim it to others.

The work of missions is a testimony to God's loving care. As His children gather around His Word, they are strengthened in faith and encouraged in hope. Through faithful preaching, hearts are comforted, burdens are lifted, and souls hear the joyful message that salvation is by grace through Christ alone.

The Apostle Paul reminds us:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."   Romans 10:17 (KJV)

What a privilege it is to participate in this work! Whether through prayers, offerings, words of encouragement, or personal service, God allows His children to share in the spread of the Gospel. He blesses both those who send and those who go, accomplishing His purpose through humble servants.

The Scriptures encourage us:

"Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty."   Proverbs 3:9–10 (KJV)

As we continue the mission before us, may we remember that every blessing comes from our Heavenly Father. He has never failed His people, and He never will. Let us trust in His provision, rejoice in His promises, and gladly support the work of bringing His life-giving Word to those who long to hear it.

May our prayer be that found in the Psalms:

"The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."

Psalm 121:8 (KJV)

May God continue to bless the Apostolic Lutheran Eastern Mission, providing faithful laborers, open hearts, and abundant opportunities to proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. To Him alone be all glory.

God’s Peace, Tyson Mattila
